McGILL TRAKROL Special-Duty Track Roller Bearings

Certain applications, because of unfavorable operating circumstances such as high temperatures or poor lubrication, require features not available in needle roller type CAMROL bearings. To satisfy such requirements, McGILL offers Special Duty TRAKROL bearings with either ball bearing or tapered roller bearing inserts. For roller diameters and point diameters-VCF series-smaller than 3", ball bearings are used; larger than 3", tapered roller bearings are used. These constructions make successful bearing operation possible under various combinations of radial and thrust stresses. Special sealing features make operation in unclean conditions possible.

The head end of the Special Duty TRAKROL Bearing is sealed off with a metal expansion plug. For added security, smaller sizes have an additional NYLAPLATE seal on the stem side and ball bearings with rubber lip seals. The larger sizes have tapered roller bearings with double-lip rubber seals. Large lubricant reservoirs and lubrication are common to all sizes. Correct type, grade, and amount of grease for long, maintenance-free life. Operating temperatures for these bearings are normally within the range of -30°F to +225°F.

To suit a diverse array of applications whose operating conditions require these Special Duty TRAKROL Bearings, McGILL provides three different O.D. configurations.

Standard configurations include Plain O.D., Flanged O.D., and "V"-grooved.

For side guiding, when there may be light side thrust loading and the flange can support the thrust load, use flanged O.D. bearings. For greater side thrust, plain O.D. bearings may serve as both side guide and main support rollers.

"V" grooved bearings are designed to operate on "V"-bar tracks. The purpose of this bearing and track arrangement is to reduce the collection of contaminants such as sand, powder, chips, etc., which most likely would occur if flat tracks were used.

Stock is commonly available in plain, flanged, and "V"-grooved O.D. variations.

If the maximum applied static load exceeds the rating shown in the charts, excessive permanent stud deflection will result. The maximum radial dynamic load which may be applied should not exceed one half of the rated Radial Basic Dynamic Rating.
